"I'm more determined than ever to make sure I'm the guy lifting the Wimbledon trophy next time around"

It is hard to describe the disappointment of losing a Grand Slam final, let alone as a British player at Wimbledon with such incredible home support.
You try to stay calm, hold it together and congratulate your opponent before thanking the fans, your team, the tournament staff and so on.

If only it was that easy.
Having invested so much effort and received unbelievable backing, it is difficult to control your reaction. The last thing you want is to cry on court, but there we go.
This tournament, the public and my family and friends all mean a great deal. I'm more determined than ever to make sure I'm the guy lifting the trophy next time round.
Clearly I'm closer to winning that first major title and after my three previous finals ended in straight-set defeats, at least I managed to win one against Roger Federer on Sunday.
It was also my first Wimbledon final - so I'm evidently improving on grass - the best I've played in a Grand Slam final and the best I've felt on the court. I was more composed.
I felt better on the morning of the match and during the entire build-up. There are plenty of good signs and even though it doesn't get any easier to accept, I'm starting to handle certain situations better than I might have done in the past.
My team spent some time together on Sunday evening - they deserved to go out and enjoy themselves - but I wouldn't have been good company. I went home and thought about stuff, worked things out in my head.
The next 10 days or so are vital because the Olympics is fast approaching. I certainly won't pick up a tennis racquet this week and I don't know if I'll stay in the country.

There's a good chance I'll try to find some sunshine; I may fly to Miami or go somewhere in Europe with my girlfriend and our dogs.
The disappointment will linger for as long as it needs to, it's not a process I'll rush. Sometimes getting back on the court quickly might work, but it can also have completely the opposite effect. I have to take the right amount of time off, let my body and mind fully recover.
Although I had back problems at the French Open, I have played well this year. I won Brisbane, lost a very close semi-final to Novak Djokovic at the Australian Open, made the finals of Dubai and Miami, and reached three clay-court quarter-finals including Roland Garros.
If I can take those positives and combine them with the lessons we'll learn from Sunday, I'm extremely confident I'll do well at the Olympics, the US Open and beyond.
Another plus has been the contribution of Ivan Lendl since taking over as my coach in January. He is a massive help, especially when it comes to keeping cool, dealing with high-pressure situations and managing tough moments during important matches.
He's made a big difference in the way I prepare for the majors, which is something I felt I needed or was maybe missing. Things are going in the right direction, but there's much more to come.
Hopefully we'll start to see that when I come back to Wimbledon for the Olympics. Sunday was painful, but the prospect of attempting to win a gold medal is already spurring me on.

Da zvanicno cestitam Endiju, potpuno zasluzeno i mnogo mi je drago :)

Jos uvek mislim da ovo ne znaci mnogo za eventualno finale slema, otprilike mislim ono sto je i on izjavio na presu

:Q. You talked about the tough losses that you've had. How much sweeter do those make this moment?
ANDY MURRAY: Yeah, it helps for sure. You know, yeah, I have lost some tough matches. Yeah, I've had a lot of questions asked about me many times.
I'm just glad that today I managed to put on a performance, I don't know, that I've been waiting for I guess.
It was obviously a huge match for me. It was a big match for Roger, as well. I'm sure it was something that he would have wanted to win the gold. It's one of the few things in tennis he hasn't done in his singles career. So it was a big match for both of us.
Yeah, just to win today, in the way that I did, makes those losses a little bit easier to take. Just to keep coming back from them, as well, because it has been tough at times. But that's why getting to spend that moment after victory with the people around you that have seen all of those losses and how tough it's been makes it special."

Svakako ce biti zanimljivo na USO. Jedva cekam. :)

Ceo intervju

Q. We saw after your winning you ran over to your girlfriend and gave her a kiss. What does it mean to have her in the stands while you compete and what did that kiss feel
like? ANDY MURRAY: No, I mean, all the players will tell you in a sport like tennis, it's very individual. So the people that you have around you become extremely important parts of your life. Kim understands tennis very well. Her dad's a tennis coach. Having her around after the Wimbledon final, which was obviously a very tough loss for me, was great. She helps pick me up. She was the only person really I saw for about four days after the final. Yeah, having her around helps.
You know, the people that were in my box, they see everything. When people watch on the TV, they see the matches, they see your interviews before and afterwards. They don't see the hours on the practice court or everything you do in the gym. The guys that are up there are the people that see that. That's where all the work's done.
I've had a lot of tough losses in my career. So being able to go up to them after a match like today is great.

GOLDEN MURRAY RECEIVES STAMP OF APPROVAL

Image
Andy Murray’s gold medal victory has been commemorated on a first-class stamp in Great Britain, on sale at post offices across the U.K. the day following his triumph at the London 2012 Olympics Tennis Event. Royal Mail has also painted a traditional red post box gold in the Scot’s hometown of Dunblane.

Murray’s mother, Judy, shared the news with a photo of Postman John Elliot on Dunblane High Street, tweeting on Monday morning: “Dunblane's got a golden postbox. And a brand new stamp. First Class.http://twitter.com/judmoo/status/232430634340077568/photo/1

Royal Mail has been hard at work over the past week, issuing next-day stamps to celebrate each of their athlete’s gold medal wins. Beginning with Heather Stanning and Helen Glover’s first-place finish in Women’s Pairs Rowing on Wednesday through Jason Kenny’s in Men’s Track Cycling Sprint on Monday, the host nation has captured 18 gold medals.

Murray defeated top seed Roger Federer of Switzerland 6-2, 6-1, 6-4 on Sunday to become the first British man since 1908 to win the Olympic singles gold medal in tennis.

Mukica, nije navikao na dočeke :D
I will not walk your dusty path and flat,
denoting this and that by this and that,
your world immutable wherein no part
the little maker has with Maker's art.
I bow not yet before the Iron Crown,
nor cast my own small golden sceptre down.

Marej ne voli da čita
13-10-2012 11:37 Napisao: Sportal
