Ladies champion Serena Williams again flaunted Wimbledon sponsorship rules by taking her Gatorade-branded water bottle into her victory Press conference despite two previous warnings.
The All England Club even provided her preferred drink in an unmarked bottle after the earlier transgressions.
Wimbledon, who cropped TV pictures to ensure the Gatorade logo was not shown, say they will be having talks with Serena before next year's championship - not that she'll take any notice.
FILIP PELIWO CROWNED CHAMPION AT WIMBLEDON
July 8, 2012
Filip Peliwo is the Junior Wimbledon champion after defeating world No. 1 Luke Saville of Australia 7-5, 6-4 on Sunday to capture the boys’ title, becoming Canada’s second junior Slam winner in as many days. The victory is a huge breakthrough for the talented Vancouver native, who settled for runner-up finishes at both the Junior Australian Open and Junior French Open earlier this year.
The 18-year-old Canadian, ranked No. 4 on the ITF junior rankings, erased a 2-5 deficit in the opening set to win 7-5 and needed one break of serve at 3-3 in the second set to secure a straight-sets victory after hitting an ace on his first match point. The victory avenges his loss to Saville in the final of the Junior Australian Open in January.
Peliwo’s strong performance gives him his first junior Slam title in his third consecutive major championship match of the season. Peliwo is the first Canadian boy to win a junior Slam singles title and completes a historic Wimbledon sweep for Canada after Eugenie Bouchard also won the girls’ title on Saturday.
Not only did Peliwo receive the Wimbledon trophy on court, but he was thrilled to be presented with it again in a ceremony in the Royal Box after the mixed doubles final. And he was dressed in a suit.
Late on Sunday afternoon, I ran into Filip on the patio above the press centre where he was doing a television interview.
It was during the Federer – Murray final and he said, “I want Andy to win a Slam. It would break his mental block.”
That did not happen for the Scot, but closer to home, Wimbledon 2012 proved to be the place for Filip Peliwo to break a huge Slam mental block of his own.
Eugenie Bouchard made it a second Wimbledon title in as many days when she won the girls doubles on Sunday after capturing the singles on Saturday.
Bouchard and Taylor Townsend of the United States, the top seeds, defeated the seventh-seeded pair of Belinda Bencic of Switzerland and Ana Konjuh of Croatia 6-4, 6-3.

Endi. Bolan poraz. Ali gledajuci ovaj mec shvatila sam da vise nije problem ni u psihi vec da, sto rece M.S., igracki stvarno nesto fali. I napredak je sta? Uzeo set u finalu. Stvarno je za plakati. Pa kljakavi Novak uze set k'o od sale.
Bas mi je muka od ovog W.
