“It's taking a little while to sink in, because it's tough to think really at the end of the match,” said Murray. “It was so tough physically and mentally that you were just trying to play each point. I wasn't thinking too much only because I was so tired and [did] not [have] too many nerves at the end of the match, either.

“I think it was an exciting match. I don't think either of us played our best tennis. There was a lot of breaks and ups and downs, [and] quite a lot of mistakes from both of us. But what I did do was fight hard, showed good mental strength to get through that match, because it easily could have slipped away from me."

When asked about his rise to World No. 2, Murray said, “For me, it doesn't change a huge amount, but the fact that I'm moving up the rankings is a good sign. I have been winning a lot of matches. My consistency has been better over the last few months. The rankings obviously reflect that. So I will try and keep working hard during the clay and hopefully, I can go higher.”

• For the first time in his career Andy Murray saved a match point in an ATP World Tour final. It was also the first time Murray came back from a set down in a semi-final and final to win an ATP World Tour title.

• MURRAY AT NO. 2 – Murray will move to No. 2 in the Emirates ATP Rankings on Monday. The first time he ranked No. 2 was Aug. 17, 2009 (until week of Sept. 7) and he was there for four weeks.

• COMEBACK TITLES – It is the sixth time Murray has come back from a set down to win a title

• MULTIPLE WINNERS – Murray is the seventh player to win two or more Sony Open Tennis titles

Mislim da veliki deo moje motivacije leži u tome što želim da se odužim sebi bliskim ljudima. Lep je osećaj pobediti i znati da su vaši voljeni raspoloženi zbog toga”.

To je po meni i razlog sto dugo nije imao bolje rezultate. Motivaciju ne crpi iz sebe vec spolja, tezi da udovolji drugima i opravda ocekivanja mame, Lendla....dodati po zelji.

A. MURRAY: I was impressed of the effort and when we got to the hotel we were in the same restaurant and he paid for my dinner and he had another suit on. I wore a track suit and then later, jeans.
