Serena Williams says she doesn’t call her coach, Patrick Mouratoglou, down to court for advice during matches because she’d rather make her own decisions.
“He doesn’t do any coaching at all,” she said. “For me, it’s my moment out there. I just kind of have to really figure out, if I’m losing, a way to win; or if things don’t go right, I have to figure out a different way. It’s a good, mature thing for me more than anything.”

The Tunisian Ministry of Sport and Tunisian Tennis Federation have forced Arab No1 player Malek Jaziri to withdraw from his quarter-final match in Tashkent against Israel’s Amir Weintraub.

The Challenger match was scheduled to take place on Friday at 10:00am (local time) but Jaziri pulled out before it started.

Jaziri’s brother, Amir Jaziri, who has been speaking on his behalf in this matter, told Tunisian radio station Shems FM, that Malek has been ordered not to play by the sports authorities back home despite him explaining to them that he can face sanctions from the tour which can affect his future in tennis.

Caroline complains to the WTA over the mysterious wildcard

Caroline Wozniacki complain that her direct competitor to the season finale has a new mysterious wildcard.

- It is very strange what has happened in Linz, says Caroline Wozniacki, referring to Ekstra Bladet story about the mysterious wildcard Angelique Kerber suddenly got to the tournament in Austria this week.

Here withdrew a local wildcard play in the last minute of 'personal reasons' to make room for the German crowd puller and Top 10 player who was in fierce competition with the Dane on the last place in the season finale in Istanbul. Spekulacije o novom treneru

The British press has mentioned a few candidates for the position, including Michael Joyce, who once coached Maria Sharapova and is currently coaching young American Jesse Pegula. Robson and Sharapova share the same agent. Joyce was offered the position before with Robson and declined.

Swede Thomas Hogstedt, who split with Sharapova during the summer, was also mentioned, but he has been rumored as the potential next coach of Caroline Wozniacki.

Robert Van't Hof, who coached Lindsay Davenport, is another potential candidate.

Robson has said in the past that she likes to work with British coaches since she can relate to them better, so it’s possible that Nigel Sears, the former LTA head of women’s tennis and the former coach of Daniela Hantuchova and Ana Ivanovic, will be considered for the job.

Former world No. 4 Jelena Dokic will attempt another comeback, the Australian press reports.

The 30-year-old has not played a match since April 2012 but has started to train at Tennis Australia’s new National Tennis Center in Melbourne. Dokic is said to be seeking a wild card into the Australian Open wildcard play-off in December. The former Wimbledon semifinalist currently has no WTA ranking.

In 10 Grand Slam appearances since 2009 Australian Open quarterfinals, Dokic was unable to get past the second round.

“She wants to get back into the game,” Tennis Australia chief executive Craig Tiley told the Age. “She’s training every day, she’s training for the [Australian] summer, with a focus on next year, and I’m sure she, like all the athletes, would like to play the wildcard play-offs, but a decision on that will happen at a later stage. Our team -- Alicia Molik, the Fed Cup captain, and Todd [Woodbridge, head of professional tennis] -- will make that assessment closer to the time … Her focus is training, and getting back after being injured, and getting back into hitting more tennis balls, getting comfortable on the court. It’s great to have her back in Australia.”

"Winning any Grand Slam title is a very nice moment, so I have to say one of my best memories was winning the Australian Open mixed doubles with Nenad Zimonjic. He's a very good friend of mine and a spectacular tennis player. And my singles titles were great too, especially the New Haven tournament - I wasn't expecting to do well there. And the US Open quarterfinals, that was a great time. My sister and mom were there supporting me when I played Davenport. It was great."

"I was doing really well at the time and moving up the rankings, and moving closer and closer to the Top 10, but then I got a shoulder injury during the French Open in 2005," Bovina said. "It was my first major injury and took me out for almost two years. It was a really tough one for me. I was struggling with my rehab and a lot of the doctors were telling me to do the surgery, but Jennifer Capriati had the exact same shoulder injury and took the surgery and had to stop tennis because she never recovered.
"So I avoided that risk and just tried to rehab it, and it took me a long time, but I did it."
Though she was healthy and playing again, there were some other things that got in the way after that.
