I will not walk your dusty path and flat,
denoting this and that by this and that,
your world immutable wherein no part
the little maker has with Maker's art.
I bow not yet before the Iron Crown,
nor cast my own small golden sceptre down.

ja sam to procitala u nekim nasim sportskim novinama pre neki dan

a imas i ovde
Andy Murray returns Roger Federer's backhanded compliment

"I always try, if I can, to be positive about all the other players," Murray said, luxuriating on a Union Jack sofa. "Roger is one of the best players ever to play and I'm glad I've had the chance to play against him." Did he think Federer feared him, then? Running around his backhand, Murray set himself for a forehand winner down the line.

"Maybe," he said. "He's entitled to say whatever he wants. I hope I get the chance to play against him this week and I can let the tennis do the talking."
As for the quality of his achievements in Asia, he said, "With the depth of players these days, you can't just turn up and win a Masters tournament. The week in Tokyo, I played Rafa [in the final], David Ferrer in the semis, David Nalbandian and Marcos Baghdatis. Those are good players, some of them great players, so it's not an easy thing to do.

"In Paris [where Federer won], Rafa didn't play, Novak [Djokovic] was injured, I was injured. Every week is different. If you play your best and not everybody's there, it's not relevant. You can only beat what's in front of you."

:beyond:

Britain's Andy Murray reacts as he listens to a question during a press conference at the O2 arena in London, Tuesday, Nov. 22, 2011 where he announced his withdrawal from the ATP World Tour Finals due to injury. His place is taken by Janko Tipsarevic of Serbia.

Champions Predict Andy Murray’s Best Is Yet To Come

Goran Ivanisevic

“The Australian Open and Wimbledon are Andy’s best chances of winning a Grand Slam. I don’t think anybody else has much of a chance against Nadal in Paris on that court apart from Novak. I think when Andy wins the first one, it's going to be easier for him and he will win more. He needs to break through and I still think he needs to perform better in his big matches. He hasn’t performed well in either of his three Grand Slam finals. In last year’s Australian Open final he didn’t play well, so he needs to play better and go for it in the final. I know it's not easy but sometimes you just have to go for it.

I didn’t stop believing even when I lost three Wimbledon finals. I got a wildcard in 2001 and was just happy to be in the tournament. I was supposed to win in 1992 and then in 1998 but I didn’t so Andy don’t give up man, you still have time! I like the way Murray plays and I’m a big fan of his tennis so he’s definitely going to win a Grand Slam. I don’t know when, I don’t have a magic ball to see that, but I always say next year it can happen. I said that to myself and I won. He will definitely win something over the next few years."

Richard Krajicek

"I predicted in 2011 that Murray was going to win his first Grand Slam title so I'll predict it again - he will win his first slam in 2012. I think he's going to win a few, and he might be a bit like Ivan Lendl and take a while to win that first one, but once he does he can go on from there. The way he played against Rafael Nadal in the first set of their semifinal at Wimbledon this year is as good as anybody I've seen play.

"Murray can put a lot of pressure on opponents from the back of the court and he has the skill to come in after a shot. I don't think he needs to be a serve-and-volley player but I don't think he realises how big his game is. He had a pretty good year in 2011, winning three tournaments in a row in Asia, and if Roger Federer hadn't finished the way he did then Andy would have finished the year as world number three."

Tim Henman

“Andy is still getting better and he will take out so many positives from the four Grand Slams in 2011 - he was in semifinals of all of them and there’s only seven players in history that have done that. For me he will keep improving his game and he can win a Slam. He can still deal with his mental reaction to adversity better and if I could improve one thing for him it would be to get him to knuckle down when things aren’t going so well and just focus on the next point.”

John McEnroe

"It would make it even more interesting if Murray were to break through and win a Grand Slam, but these guys (Djokovic, Nadal, Federer) like to win and they are selfish. They are not going to give it away.

I think Djokovic needed to regroup at the end of the year and he’s done that. Perhaps he's rope-a-doping so that he's ready for Australia.

It's exciting, unpredictable, you expect the big guys to have a say, but hopefully someone else will get in the mix and it could be Murray. That's the way it's been the last couple of years - unpredictable. Who would have thought that Djokovic would have had a year like he's had?

There's no way of knowing who will come out best after a rest. It’s interesting."

Just a couple of hours after landing in Brisbane following a long journey from his training base in Miami, the 24 year-old world no.4 underwent an intensive two hours practice session in intense humidity at the Queensland Tennis Centre, site of next week’s Brisbane International where Murray begins his 2012 schedule.

“I feel pretty fit and have been doing a lot of work,” Murray told the Brisbane Courier Mail newspaper. “Everyone wants to get some matches in because its been a long break.”
Brisbane International tournament director Cameron Pearson was an overjoyed spectator. “He looks great and in good shape,” said Pearson who confirmed top seeded Murray is not scheduled to play his first-round match until Tuesday. “He just punched out a couple of hours of training.”
