sSt. Pauli Vs Duisburg
TEAM NEWS
St. Pauli coach Andre Schubert has a problem to deal with at left-back. With Jan-Phillip Kalla out injured and replacement Sebastian Schachten picking up two yellow cards at the weekend it could mean an earlier-than-anticipated return for captain Fabio Morena. Carsten Rothenbach is likely to keep his place in the side with St. Pauli short of numbers at the back.
Rouwen Hennings is a slight doubt after collecting a knock against Bochum, while Charles Takyi faces time on the sidelines after suffering a foot injury. Long-term absentees Marius Ebbers, Carlos Zambrano, Moritz Volz, Petar Filipovic and Deniz Naki all remain sidelined, but Dennis Daube is available once again having recovered from a thigh injury to take his place on the bench against Bochum.
On the positive side, the Kiezkicker have brought in former Germany U-21 international Kevin Schindler from Werder Bremen. The 23-year-old will bolster the Hamburg-based club’s attack.
Milan Sasic kept faith in the line-up that won Duisburg their first points of the season against Rostock, but could be without main striker Flamur Kastrati after he picked up an adductor injury in the same match. The good news is he isn’t expected to be out for long, but the game against St. Pauli might be too soon for the Norwegian.
Elsewhere, Ivica Grlic has returned to light training, but is still lacking match fitness, while Slovenian captain Srdjan Baljak could possibly make a timely return to the bench. Veteran Emil Jula remains the only long-term injury.

MATCH PREVIEW
Germany’s favourite cult club continue to go from strength to strength despite their diminished numbers as their away win over Bochum saw them move to the top of the table.
Andre Schubert is excelling as the replacement for Holger Stanislawski with St. Pauli holding the unbeaten record in the 2. Bundesliga thanks to their spirited performances.
Die Kiezkicker had to come from behind for the second consecutive match, but goals from Fin Bartels and star player Max Kruse late on secured a 2-1 win.
Visiting Duisburg added to their first point of the season with another uninspired 0-0 draw against Rostock. Things haven’t been easy for last year’s cup finalists as they currently find themselves in the relegation zone with only two points from four matches and three goals to their name.
Their lack of clinical finishing in front of goal was once again costly and goalkeeper Florian Fromlowitz was to thank for keeping a clean sheet and ultimately ensuring an invaluable point on the board.
Milan Sasic needs to breathe some life into his squad as another lacklustre performance against Andre Schubert’s confident league leaders could see them severely punished.
HEAD TO HEAD
Duisburg hold the advantage over St. Pauli having won five of their previous 12 encounters. However, it should be noted that St. Pauli have been on top recently and are unbeaten in their last five matches against the Zebras, recording three wins and 2 draws.
